Coach Gabriel's first exposure to martial arts stemmed from his Grandfather who was a pioneer student of Taekwondo in Singapore. He enrolled into a taekwondo school and made the transition to Japanese Jujitsu and Judo. In 2004, a friend invited him to attend a Jeet Kune Do Workshop taught by Sifu Mark Stewart. After the 2 day workshop Gabriel was totally blown over by how scientific, simple, direct but efficient Jeet Kune Do was and started training religiously with Mark Stewart who also encouraged him to start competing actively in JKD using other martial arts tournaments as a platform. As a firm believer in contact sparring and combative sports, Gabriel has trained and competed in various combative sports such as Taekwondo, Boxing, Muay thai, Judo, Freestyle Wrestling, Amateur MMA and Submission Grappling. Gabriel has had the opportunity to train with many masters such as Ted Wong(JKD) and Gilbert Durinho Burns(BJJ) and wrestling under 2x Olympic champion, Sergei Beloglazov.

Gabriel is training and competing in Freestyle Wrestling for the Singapore National team and is also pursuing his bachelor's degree in Sports and Exercise Science whilst working out regularly at Crossfit Singapore.
